Tirreno - Adriatico
🚴 UCI
🌍 INT
Nicknamed the “Race of the Two Seas,” Tirreno runs across Italy from Tyrrhenian to Adriatic, mixing time trials, hilly ambushes, and summit finishes. It’s a playground for complete riders and the long-standing rival to Paris–Nice for early-season bragging rights. Routes often include “muri” that split fields and magnify positioning errors.
Teams prize Tirreno for how faithfully it simulates grand-tour dynamics in miniature.
Sprinters get multiple shots, TT engines find rhythm, and GC leaders rehearse mountain-train choreography. When the wind is up on the coast, even flat stages become selective, and the final GC can swing on seconds.
